About me

Hello Smartsitting Families! My name is Taylor, and I have been a childcare provider for much of my life. I have had a love for working with children from my very first babysitting experience at 12 years old. Ever since then, I have regularly worked with children whether it was in-home, at the daycare I worked at for 10 years, or at the boarding school in New York the past two summers.

In recent years I have worked closely with two families. The first family, and the family I have the most experience with, has four children: two girls, ages 7 and 11, and two boys, ages 3 and 5. I primarily worked with this family after school and for regular date nights. When the family’s 3 year old was 17 months, I worked with him one-on-one in the mornings before I went to my job at a daycare. My responsibilities included reading to him, teaching him letters, numbers, and words, singing to him, changing his diapers, taking him to the park, bathing him, feeding him, and putting him down for his nap.

Another family I recently worked with over the last several months had two children: a boy and a girl, ages 4 and 2, respectively. I looked after and cared for these children whenever the parents had a date night. Sometimes the parents would have extended dates, which left me in charge for 8-9 hours at a time.

From 2007 to 2017, I worked as a Childcare Leader for a daycare in Southern California, called The Learning Connection. The daycare was a before and after school program, and over the years, I was promoted several times. My most recent position title was Senior Childcare Leader, where I was responsible for organizing, lesson planning, and running the Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs (with students ages 4-6). Depending on the year, I had anywhere from 15-30 students in my program. My favorite aspect of the program was creating themed, developmentally age appropriate, and Multiple Intelligence based lessons that the students really enjoyed.

During the summer of 2015 and 2016, I worked at Education First (EF) Academy, an International Boarding School in New York. During my time at EF, I worked as an Activity Leader, where my role was to take 200+ International students, ages 7-18, on field trips and activities in New York City and Boston.

My passion for working with children, also played a part in my schooling, and I received a B.S. in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Fullerton. I have worked with children of all ages, from babies to teens. I have always enjoyed getting to know children individually to find out about their interests, hobbies, and needs, and also what makes them special and unique. My goal is to take my prior knowledge, education, and experience with me to fully dedicate myself to your family. I plan to provide a warm, loving, and supportive environment for your children. I look forward to working hands on as a team player, taking on new responsibilities, and being the dependable nanny or babysitter your family needs.
