About me

I am a career nanny who has spent the last 20 years working in the child care field and have had the pleasure working with kids from infancy through adulthood. When I started working as a summer sitter for a toddler girl as a means to pay for my last year of college, I wouldn't have imagined that I would eventually become so close with the family and remain there through two more births, as well as my own marriage and two kids!

I have been very comfortable working both alongside parents and independently over the years. I am open to, and encourage communication as I believe it builds trust between the parent and the sitter. I also really feel that as a sitter, and even more so for a long term nanny position, it is vital to have an open, honest working relationship with the parents, and to keep in mind what the parents want for their child in terms of structure, routine or discipline, as each family chooses to raise their children within their own guidelines.

I truly believe that my genuine love for the job and working with kids is a key factor in making me a fun, engaging, attentive sitter. Being a mother raising two older kids at home, as well as my long term permanent nanny position with the same family for almost 20 years, has allowed me the unique opportunity to really learn about each stage of development first hand. I recently had a year long position reintroducing myself with infant to toddler stages - tummy time, sleep training, naps, introducing foods, and age appropriate play and learning. It has been great fun working with a younger child again, however I am truly comfortable with all ages and have favorite things about each age that I enjoy. I love to read on my own time and love reading to and with children as it helps with language skills, listening skills, attention, creativity among other things. I'm excited to continue my journey in the childcare field and hope my energy , love of outdoors, and sports as well as my engaging, nurturing, patience and maturity lend a good balance for job.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I truly love reading and believe it's great to start reading to kids as young as newborns! It can help with language, concentration and creativity and I encourage it. I also love doing arts and crafts or baking with kids if it's age appropriate. I enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors- walks, park trips, and sports are great everyday!
