About me
I am originally from the Boston area; I grew up in Lexington, MA and Jamaica Plain, MA simultaneously where I got the best of both worlds in the suburbs and the city.
I've recently graduated from a digital photography program at Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging Arts. I'm currently living and working as a Freelance Photographer in Venice, CA. In addition to mentoring an amazing and diverse group of students at Venice Arts in their Photography program.
My first babysitting job was as a mother’s helper when I was 12 years old. I assisted my neighbor with her three children ages 1, 4 and 8. They were a Vegan family and the mother worked at home as a silversmith. It was a very interesting experience, which I am still very grateful for because through babysitting I was able to experience a different way of life, namely strict vegetarianism, which was a stark difference from that of my meat and potatoes upbringing. Not to mention I had to quickly master the art of changing boys in cloth diapers!
I worked at WGBH in Educational Programming & Outreach and Children’s Programming for several years. The series I worked on "Between the Lions" is geared towards kids aged 3 to 6 years old to encourage and foster literacy. The format of the show is quite similar to Sesame Street. Also, while in Educational Programming and Outreach, I worked along side Outreach Coordinators providing educational resources to teachers, childcare providers, parents and children.
I have been playing soccer since I was a child and I thought it would be a great opportunity to give back and volunteer to coach. I was a soccer coach for the Roxbury YMCA for about three seasons where I coached children ages 5-9 years old.
In addition I was a camp counselor and after school teacher at the Cambridge Community Center in Cambridge, MA for about 3 years. I’ve also facilitated photography and documentary video production workshops. For the photography workshops the participants were given a theme, such as the current season and capture the feelings and emotions evoked by said themes. It was remarkable to see the work the kids produced! At CCC, I generally worked with children ages 4-12 years old.
I am also very pet friendly!
