About me
I began babysitting at the age of 12 after taking a babysitting class at a local community center in Colorado. I worked regularly with several families, but began nannying near the end of high school. From then on, I worked with various families during my summers off from college. During college whenever I visited my parents, I made sure to find time to babysit for families that I had either worked with before or even meet some new families every now and then. It is so wonderful to be able to reconnect with a child after some time has passed and see how they've grown!
Most recently, I worked a position in a gym daycare in Boston during my senior year, where I worked with kids ranging from 3 months to 12 years old. At times it could get a little busy, but this was just an opportunity for me to help the kids learn all sorts of group games that we could all play and learn together, no matter the age difference.
In my years of being a nanny, I've found that every day is different, but just as rewarding as the last. There is always something that I can learn from children, and something that we can learn and discover together. From teaching an eight year old girl how to bake cupcakes for her sister's birthday to creating a new song and dance together with my kids so we can make chores and homework fun, I have thoroughly enjoyed every experience at each age! Helping a child to learn about the world, explore it, and encourage their curiosity is the best part about being a nanny.
I am a very organized person, which lends itself well to keeping track of a schedule and managing all of the little details in a household. I am also very active, and I like to instill that in kids that I work with. I love to cook, and have experience with both gluten-free and vegan diets, so I work well with dietary restrictions.
My core philosophies when working with children are built on communication and cultivating a creative and fun environment. I like to have open and honest conversations with a child at any age, in order to get to know them and understand how they really thrive in their daily life. Spending time asking about something they learned in school that day or even what their favorite animal is can be a great way to open the door to communication and trust, and allow us to spend more time getting to know each other!
I love to help kids come up with their own games to play, using their imagination. I believe encouraging kids to really open up and have fun while still engaging their creativity is key. I like to implement this as much as possible — whether it’s doing homework and chores, or in a game that we make up on our own.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Some of my favorite things to do include coloring, playing outside, and playing pretend games. I love to spend time reading out loud with kids, while encouraging them to create their own character voices or even act out their favorite parts, because I believe that engaging their imaginations while learning is one of the best ways to help them grow! In the past eleven years I have also mastered the ultimate blanket fort. I like to use play time to encourage kids to be respectful of others, spread kindness, and use problem solving skills so that these can all be transferred easily to every day situations, all while having fun!
