About me

From a young age, I have loved working with and being around kids. I am from California originally, went to school in Washington D.C., and have lived in New York the last five years. Music and the arts has been such a big part of my life, and I love to share that with the kids I babysit. Through pursuing a career in musical theatre, I have found that working with kids opens up your ability to create and play. They have such vivid imaginations and there is no sense of too much silliness - which I LOVE.

Over the last 10 years, I have cared for kids of all different ages, in many different settings. I have worked with many families of multiples and have grown very knowledgeable in managing sibling dynamics, juggling many activities, and giving each child individualized attention.

I worked for a family for about two years, and when I started the youngest girl was about 18 months old. We would travel all over TriBeca, play in the park (when the weather permitted), have playdates with her friends, and put on shows at the park that the other kids LOVED. We would often pick up her two older siblings from school and then head back to the apartment where Uno and dance parties were regular activities. Since they moved out of the city we have stayed in touch and we still Skype from time to time - I love to see that they have all developed and grown and that I am still a part of their life even though they live across the country!

In the last two years I have started teaching drama and creative movement in after school programs at such schools as Ethical Culture, Marymount, and Herschel. I love combining my love for the arts and kids. I hope to find some families to work with who are looking for someone to engage their kids creatively and also allow them to express themselves.
