About me
As far back as preschool, I have had a natural instinct and inclination towards caring for little ones. I would beg the teachers to let me help out in the baby room, and although I was just a child myself, it was there that my love for childcare began. Fast forward a few decades, and I still maintain the same enthusiasm for children as a babysitter, nanny, camp counselor, and mentor.
Over the years, I have worked with children ranging from 6 months to 17 years old and am confident in my ability to meet the needs of all age groups. I have experience working with families on a regular basis, a long-term basis, as well as on a one-time, short-term basis.
One of my strongest suits is my ability to create a comfortable, safe environment in which others are free to express themselves. As an artist with a B.A. in Theater from Rutgers University, I merge my creative talents with my passion for children to help foster a nurturing, supportive space for growth. While working with children, I not only view myself as a childcare specialist but as a mentor and friend who strives to be a positive role model at all times. I am encouraging and always working towards building children's confidence in themselves while emphasizing the importance of respect for others.
I firmly believe that in order to receive respect, it is essential to give respect. When it comes to children, I believe in the importance of respecting and validating a child's feelings, thoughts, and concerns. I think this sets me apart and is a key reason why I am able to form healthy, positive bonds with all of the children I care for.
