About me
I first started working with children when I volunteered at my community theatre in high school. I learned at a young age that nothing is more rewarding than fostering a safe and creative environment where I can help children gain self confidence, learn through imaginative play, and develop various social skills. I began working at Crystal Theatre Performing Arts Center in 2008 in various capacities as a Theater Educator, Choreographer, and Director of children's theater. While working at Crystal Theatre I have taught and cared for hundreds of children ranging from ages four to seventeen. During the summers, I have worked as both a Camp Counselor and Assistant Camp Director and have been responsible for 30-50 children at one time (age ranges: four years-thirteen years). As a camp counselor, I have lead classes in crafts, sports and games, dance, and musical theatre.
I attended university at Concordia University in Montreal, QC . In 2014 I graduated with distinction with a BFA Specialization in Theatre Performance and Minor in Psychology. While in university I babysat for various families, volunteered at after school theatre programs, and created a weekend child care program at my local community center.
Once I graduated from university, I decided to stay in Montreal for 2.5 years working as an actor and a part-time nanny. I worked for multiple families and have experience caring for infants, toddlers, and children. I have had the pleasure of growing very close with all of the families I have worked with and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the children grow and prosper.
Whenever I work as a caretaker I always integrate my experience as a theatre educator and artist. I love creating various activities for children and engaging in different games. I have organized and participated in my fair share of living room dance recitals, original plays, and fashion shows. I have been both a teacher and student in classrooms based out of play rooms. I have also oversaw the construction of blanket/cushion forts, restaurants with fake (and sometimes real!) food, grocery stores, and am always supportive of whatever else a child's imagination may create. I have learned firsthand that a caretaker should not only be trustworthy and responsible but also have the ability to actively engage the child/children. I guarantee that I will not passively babysit but provide a safe, fun, and inviting environment that will entertain and interest any child.
I also have experience in caring for children in large cities. I understand the level of safety and structure that is needed when navigating public transportation, playing in public parks, and handling pick-up/drop-off from school and after school activities. I am a very clean and organized person and can assist the family with light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and other household duties. Above all else, I am here to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child/children. I will always follow the parents' rules and guidelines and can respond in a quick and thoughtful manner if ever any problems should arise.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
I hope to be a successful actor living in NYC while also working with children in some capacity- whether that be through education and/or caretaking. I would love to be able to merge my passion for acting, my joy of teaching and caring for youth, and my desire to build community and help others in need by working for establishments (or creating my own establishment) that is focused on art education, community development, and youth work. Concerning my work as a professional actor and theatre-maker, I also hope to be performing my own work internationally through different residency programs and in various performance festivals.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love to teach children various theatre games and arts and crafts activities while also allowing them the space and opportunity to create their own art. As an avid reader, I always enjoy reading to children and sharing my own stories. I also like to hike and be outside. It would be great to have the opportunity to take children on nature walks and other outdoor activities.
