About me
Growing up with a big family, babysitting was no foreign concept to me. I was trusted to care for the youngsters as a youngster myself. After years of being a camp kid, I became a camp counselor, spending a full work week with 4-7 year olds over the course of three summers. This job gave me incredible patience in the face of stressful situations, which I have carried with me and applied in every new position.
When I moved to New York, I began babysitting frequently to make what I could while juggling a full class load and rehearsals. This gave me a wide variety of experiences with all different age ranges and sizes of families. It gave me an opportunity to share what I loved with these families as well. I would use my creative skill set to make games and playtime, and would use it to make trivial tasks fun. It was incorporating my two passions, childcare and theater that set me on the path to become a teaching artist.
I worked with infants to teenagers during this time, giving me a wealth of knowledge that I tap into every time I work with a new family. I began nannying during the school year and making my schedule in accordance with the families' needs. This gave me the incredibly rewarding experience of working over long stretches of time with a family. My experiences have brought me so much happiness and a new understanding of my own passions. I look forward to the continued journey and joy of childcare.
