About me

As a child, my mother would often take me to her mommy-and-me classes that she taught through an organization called Music Together. In these classes, I was able to see how mothers, fathers and relatives interacted with their infants and toddlers during dancing/singing exercises, and also how to facilitate these engaging activities. Like my mother, I have a passion for music that I love to share with those around me, especially children.

Over the years, I have worked with groups of children ranging from infancy to early teens. I have babysat for infants and young children, facilitated music and theatre classes for larger groups of varying ages, worked with children with special needs and have also tutored in subjects such as English, French, Spanish and Social Studies.

I love languages and am fluent in both French and Spanish, though not a native speaker. In college, the focus of my major was Literary Translation, which was an absolute blast! Mostly working with poetry and musical compositions, I really enjoyed the process of translation and how it allows for us to connect with different people and cultures that we may otherwise be unable to understand.

I like to approach most situations with positivity and humor, especially when working with kids. I am patient, sensitive, and I think it's very important to encourage creativity and demonstrate the importance of hard work. Also, I do happen to love Mary Poppins and try to adapt her musical approach to babysitting!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years, I hope to be in a place where my love of music and my professional career are linked, whether that means teaching or working as a full-time performing musician.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Sharing music with children has lead to some of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences. I love playing theatre games or activities that involve music, even if it's just karaoke or freeze-dance. With theatre games especially, I find that it's a great way for kids (and adults) to push their imagination and even improve their problem-solving skills. It's always great fun!
