About me

I have been working with children and youth for over 10 years in various capacities, and love having the opportunity to create a supportive environment for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. I have worked with children in all stages of development, from infants to young adults, as an in-home babysitter, camp counselor, nursery attendant, and through youth programs with nonprofits.

When with children and youth, I prioritize mental and physical safety while creating an environment for fun and learning. From my time as a camp counselor and in planning youth programming at nonprofits, I am confident with logistics management and activity planning, as well as thinking quickly on my feet as situations change. I am detail-oriented and well organized, and have experience with both traditional and alternative education structures - although I went to traditional education for K-12, my undergraduate program emphasized experiential learning and learning about alternative education structures, such as Waldorf. I also am knowledgable about allergens and dietary restrictions as I used to be allergic to dairy, and my sister is gluten free with other allergies.

I love working with young people, because in my life, I was lucky to have some incredible adults outside of my parents - babysitters and camp counselors - that shaped who I am as a person today. From inspiring me to go into the nonprofit/social sector to thinking beyond my local community about the world around me, these adults supported my growth, learning, and process of finding my place in the world. I love working with children and youth, and am also inspired by this opportunity to be one of those positive examples that I had in my life.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

continuing to build a life and career oriented around impact/purpose - both on an organizational and structural level through my consulting work with nonprofits and social enterprises, and through opportunities to continue working with children and young people through babysitting and other youth programs.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

making crafts, imagining stories (and then writing/illustrating them!), putting together skits and plays, playing or making up new games, cooking and baking snacks, reading together, and more!
