About me

When I was 14 years old, my older sister of 24 gave birth to her first of five children. Her husband was on a tour of duty in Iraq while she was at their home on an army base in Bamberg, Germany. I flew to Europe and lived with her for 3 months helping take care of her newborn son. Since then I've absolutely adored taking care of children. I've been there for every new addition to her family no matter where in the world they are and take pride in being the best Aunt in the world.

After high school, I went to the University of Texas at Austin where I studied Theatre & Dance. During my time there I began teaching workshops to third grade students on creating stories through improvisation. I fell in love with this new way of interacting with children. Using my skills to unlock their creativity and boost their confidence and self-efficacy. I began teaching with that program my sophomore year of college and continued working in education throughout my college career, teaching several different workshops to students, taking on a position as a choreographer at a local high school, and teaching musical theater summer camp classes.

Since my University graduation, I've continued my work with children at theaters and community centers. I have been babysitting throughout NYC since November 2014 and have worked with children ranging from 1 year old to 12 years old. I strongly believe that every day is a gift and an opportunity to learn and grow as a person and take that philosophy with me into my work with young people. I like to foster a child's imagination and personality and engage them through experiential learning. Curiosity and determination are two qualities that I particularly like to explore with young people. I believe curiosity helps children figure out who they are, what they like, and how they see the world around them. Determination is an important skill for any human to have and I believe that it can be fostered everyday through mini projects or personal goals that we work on together, instilling responsibility and passion.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Continuing my work with children, no matter what avenue that may be in. Performing more comedy and writing/creating my own content.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love storytelling and the different styles it can have, whether in a book, a piece of art, a song, etc. I have a background in arts integration which is integrating school subjects with different art forms and love finding fun ways to teach different subjects. For example- story structure through improvisation, science through magic tricks, the plant cycle through dance, etc.
