About me
Hello! My name is Molly and I recently completed my PhD at Columbia University in ancient Greek art, archaeology and literature and I am excited to be teaching art history as an adjunct professor in Manhattan and New Jersey this coming year! I feel so fortunate to be able to teach subjects that I am passionate about in a city that has endless resources. While in my work life my students are usually young adults, I really love teaching and interacting with children and students of all ages. I love to share my own interests and curiosities with others and I frequently make outings to museums and other landmarks in New York with friends, students or children.
When watching children I tend to be quite patient and I hope that my calm energy helps to make children feel safe and heard. I love talking with children and I think that its important to talk to them about their day and engage them in conversation about their interests or concerns. Although I pride myself on being serious and professional, I also like to have fun and I like laughing and being a bit goofy with children. Safety and respect are of utmost importance to me and I think that they provide the best environment for anyone to be happy and flourish.
I spent the first 8 years of my life in a small fishing village in Alaska and then spent my formative years in Northern California. My two younger sisters and I spent lots of time playing outside with our family's menagerie of pets and loved spending time at the beach and redwood forest. I continue to have a very active life and I love to go running or swimming or to chase kids around at the park or playground. Although I grew up in the country I moved to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley and got my first taste of city life. Now I feel comfortable and happy in both settings. I did a bit of traveling and studied in Norway and New Zealand before finally landing here to complete my graduate studies. I feel so fortunate to have been able to cultivate a life here that allows me to enrich my life with interesting and caring people, places and events.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Due to my passion for art and archaeology I love teaching children about art and artifacts. I grew up in the country with an avid birdwatcher for a father so I love to take children to the park and to look for birds or other small creatures. As an art historian I spend a lot of time observing the visual world and I like to show children the beauty in all things; buildings, lovely illustrations, nature, paintings, etc.
