About me

I've spent most of my life around children. As the oldest of 5 siblings, between two different households, I've had the unique opportunity to experience the full spectrum of childhood development and under different family cultures; My youngest siblings are seven years old and my oldest has just started college. Thus, my ability to adjust and adapt to the needs of the children and parents I work for is deeply ingrained.

As an actress and older sister with a natural verve and enthusiasm, I have a passion for the creative process and a love for working with children. Although I've acquired the majority of my training from growing up at home--preparing meals, doing light housekeeping, planning fun activities, after school, daytime, and bath/bedtime supervision--My childcare related community service is what's honed my ability to engage kids of various ages.

I've performed and worked with Elementary school-aged youth in high school via my school's theater department and through my Catholic Church community during summer bible study camps. In college, I volunteered as a production manager for a children's musical at a small theater academy. I collaborated with the directors to facilitate rehearsals and worked one-on-one with the young actors until the show's premiere. I also worked as one of two Greeting Card writing interns for Hallmark Cards in 2012, and was able to work on projects like Kids' Birthday and Fathers day.

I have been described as a "reliable communicator" and as "a take-charge caregiver." I am someone who enjoys entertaining and building relationships with the kids I care for, but I am also willing to be firm for the sake of their safety and maintaining order.

Your children are precious to you, and I do not take your entrusting them to my care lightly. However, In my experience, this responsibility has been an enormous gift; watching children learn and grow and express themselves (in all the silly ways that they do) is so incredible, and the idea that I may have had something to do with that is so fulfilling.
