About me
I am Paula! I was born in New York City and grew up on the Upper West Side. I went to college at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA where I explored many subjects. I majored in economics and international business.
After working in sales for a year I decided to follow my passion and become a teacher and I have never looked back. I have worked in different private schools in New York City and received my masters form Bank Street School of Education in Infancy and Family development/Early Intervention and Early Childhood/Special Education. This past year I became a New York State Certified Teacher.
I have experience working with a rage of children. I have spent most of my time working with infants and toddlers as a classroom teacher. In this position, I created lessons and activities where children learn through doing. I love getting children involved in different ways through movement, art and language and watching them learn about the world around them.
While working with infants and toddlers I did daily feeding, diaper changing, and naps. I found that these activities were the most meaningful and helped create a strong bond and connection with the children. I loved helping one little girl fall asleep while rubbing her back and then helping another child sooth by rocking him in a chair.
While my specialty is ages 0-3, I also student taught in a Kindergarten classroom where I performed all the duties of a regular classroom teacher, preparing the classroom for the day, creating lesson plans, and interacting with both students and parents. Some of my favorite times in the Kindergarten class was during drop off when I had the opportunity to chat with the children and parents creating a strong sense of community. I have also worked with children with variations, delays and disabilities. This upcoming year I will be taking a break from being a classroom teacher and work for an agency as a SEIT and Early Intervention specialist.
I love working with children because I believe that they are all innately good and need love, support and encouragement to succeed. I truly enjoy watching children grow and learn and hope that I can grow and learn with them.

Teaching. I love my job and hope to continue learning, growing and advancing in the field. Ideally, I will be working In a city program, building strong relationships with communities and caring for children.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love reading with children and making up stories. This helps with their language development and pre literacy skills. Developing and working on children's fine and gross motor development through different activities such as playing with play dough, beading, jumping and running is always enjoyable and very engaging for children. I also enjoy doing art projects and allowing children to explore the materials in a meaningful way. I believe that children learn through doing and I would like to provide as many opportunities for them to do as I can.
