About me

I graduated from Vassar College in 2017, where I completed a double major in Neuroscience and French. I also played on the Varsity Women's Soccer team. Since graduating, I worked in educational nonprofits for 4 years, so I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring any school subject! I would love for tutoring and/or sports to be a part of my Smart Sitting experience.

With three younger siblings, I grew up loving babies and children and have worked as a babysitter since I was a preteen. My mother is a developmental pediatrician, and since I was about 12 years old, she has been recommending me to families as a babysitter. During the summers and weekends, I focused on babysitting and helping families out in whatever way I could, mostly working for families of 3 children ranging from 2 years-10 years old.

I love to play soccer and other sports, sing, read, run, do yoga, and be outside. I pride myself on making sure I entertain the children I am taking care of with as little technology as possible. I am attentive and exciting while remaining responsible and hardworking. In high school, I took care of a 4-year-old boy with Autism, which was how I became especially interested in child development. Most of the experience I have has been with families of three children with ages ranging from 3 to 12 years old, but I am very comfortable with young infants as well. Recent babysitting jobs have included caring for three children during the day, providing meals and activities as well as transportation to and from parks and camps. I have worked at summer soccer camps with children from ages 5-15.

I have continually learned about children and how to be a better mentor and caregiver. Now, after spending 4 years building a career, I look forward to furthering my education with a graduate degree in counseling or education. I am excited to get back into childcare while I figure out my next steps!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to be a therapist or work in mental healthcare in schools. My motivation comes from helping others, interacting with others, and doing what I can to empower or make things easier for others despite the inequalities and difficulties in our world. The thought of having purposeful and meaningful conversations with people who want to think critically about their lives sounds incredible.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to sing, and tell or read stories, either reading to the child or having the child read to me. I also love to play sports and be outside, which is something I can share with children at various levels. Finally, I do love art even though I don't have much experience--I love coloring books, drawing, painting, etc, and it is a great activity to do with children. I also enjoy problem solving games and activities like puzzles!
