About me

As the third child of four I often cared for my younger sibling, and I believe that’s where my childcare career began! For the past 15 years, I have been given the privilege to teach, care and guide children of all ages, through daycare services, after-school, and college preparedness programs. Like mentioned above, I have worked alongside families through changing diapers, and teaching essential life skills, all the while gaining pure joy and satisfaction of it all.

My teaching experience includes being a former Teacher’s Assistant of the FLY Academy; a multi-leveled, holistic college preparatory nonprofit that increases awareness and ensures college readiness among at risk high school youth. When working with these children, I was primarily responsible for leading and devising group activities, as well as event planning, which provided me the focus on what the children really needed.

When working with children, I am sure to maintain a safe environment to roam around and learn freely. While reading is essential, I’m also strong advocate for learning through experience and play. As a community relations coordinator at a top Charter School in NYC, I developed strong relationships with parents and scholars, and provided a sound and safe school community. Serving and assisting others has granted the opportunity to further learn about myself and developed the upmost humbleness and joy.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be in the medical field, more specifically a doctor. As I am currently studying for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). I would also like to become a business owner and be in a position that ables me to give back to my community.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Exploring the infamous realm of the imagination, self-advocacy, proper etiquette and optimism, are amongst the many skills I love to teach and share with children. Self-Advocacy teaches children to listen, reason and gain understanding. Proper etiquette is another skill of importance for children. Through good manners children learn to share and to respect the space of all other family members. Lastly, implementing optimism in the lives of children and young people help to focus on the good. I have them acknowledge their feelings and try to reduce their pessimistic thoughts by asking questions that create a positive outlook.
