About me
Hello! My name is Lea, and I live in Brooklyn. I have an associates degree in communication and have taken several child care classes as electives in my program. I've been babysitting (up to five children at a time) ranging in age from infancy-pre teens for 10 years, have worked extensively with special needs children, and have been nannying exclusively for well over three years now.
I always helped out at home with my younger brothers and was lucky enough to grow up in a neighborhood that had a lot of babysitting opportunities. I started babysitting neighborhood kids at 13, and after high school decided that it was something I wanted to do on a more full time basis. I worked part time (20-25 hrs/wk) while I was earning my associates degree, and since moving to New York three years ago I have been nannying full time while doing freelance photography on the side.
I aim to work with children and their families to come up with ideas that enhance everyone's daily lives. Simple ideas like sticker charts, coming up with weekly menus for dinner, and planning activities for the week to create a sense of structure are all things that I have done with families that have employed me in the past. I am comfortable running daily errands, helping with light cleaning and laundry, and cooking for families.
