About me

I have an M.A. Educational Theatre in Colleges and Communities from the New York University Steinhardt School, and a B.F.A. in Theatre from the Actors Training Program at the University of Utah. I am an organized, detail-oriented, and communicative person. I am passionate about building community and cultivating creativity in young people.

As a teacher and child care provider, I am patient, collaborative, and focused. When working with young people, I strive to facilitate a fun, inclusive, child-centered process to the kids I work with-whether as a teacher or as a babysitter. I recognize that every family is unique and will have varying needs and expectations-my ability to be both flexible, organized, and communicate clearly helps with this.

I have been working as a child care provider on and off for many years and have extensive experience in childcare-both as a short-term babysitter for families over time and long-term nanny. In addition to child care for families, I am an experienced teacher and mentor and have worked with young people of all ages (toddler-young adult) in this capacity.

In addition to child care, I am an experienced teacher and curriculum builder. I currently facilitate theatre-based classes with multiple age groups from toddlers to young adults. In March 2017, I founded the Devised Theatre Project, an organization that provides free weekly theatre classes to teens currently living in the NYC shelter system. The pilot program is off to a successful start and currently in progress at the CAMBA Flagstone Family Center in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

I also have experience devising and directing theatre, developing theatre-based curriculum, and workshop facilitation for a wide variety of communities including youth in arts-based after school programming at the YMCA, juvenile-justice involved adolescents in NYC, and at-risk youth attending Lafayette Academy Alternate Learning Center in the Bronx.
