About me

My name is Katie and I've been working with children for most of my life. I come from a large loving family who instilled in me fundamentals of healthy relationships. Recently I've been focusing on how I can utilize my artistic background in my childcare philosophies. I am a classically trained singer, who received my B.F.A in Musical Theatre from The University of Michigan, and here in New York I write my own music, perform, direct, and produce new shows. I am passionate that music and art education access is fundamental, and I work with families to find creative ways to integrate my artistry into my childcare practices. I believe that children truly are our future and that in the workplace whether it's a home or school, that they deserve attentive and thoughtful care.

I have worked with children of all ages from newborn infants to teenagers. I'm comfortable working with one on one and also in large groups upwards of 25-40. The most important part of my experience with families is open communication built on trust and respect and I try to emphasize that beyond just my relationship with the parents, but with children as well.

I am creative, enthusiastic, artistic, passionate, caring, nurturing, thoughtful, respectful, and I believe in safe, healthy, fun, and important childcare work.
