About me
Since my childhood days as a Girl Scout, I have always known working with children is what I want to do. As soon as I was old enough to lead activities and become a camp counselor, there I was creating adventures and organizing events to bring joy and education into the lives of kids.
This philosophy has followed me into my work as a childcare professional. Listening to the needs of families, the hopes and dreams of children allows me to facilitate a very personalized experience for each child, allowing them to explore their ideas with me via expressive and constructive play. My education in dance is particularly useful for productive study time with your child. All children need and understand movement, so whether we are studying, playing, or working on a new skill, movement and mindfulness can bring your child joy in learning, calmness in playtime, and ease frustrations when expressing their feelings.
Education is always the main focus when I am working with children, but I also aim to make their experience interesting to them and useful to their lives. Their natural curiosity and wonder makes this a symbiotic relationship, as I also learn so much from them each day. I respect their experience in this world and seek to enrich their lives as much as I know they enrich my own.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
Choreographing and performing with my company, Elephant Dance. I am the artistic director and so far have produced one show. Connecting my artistic efforts with habitat preservation for elephants is also very important to me. Elephant Dance is a vehicle for art but also for education about these incredible creatures of our planet. I also hope to be teaching dance to children of all ages.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Arts and crafts, movement-including, but not limited to dance, sports, cooking, games, self directed play, outdoor skills: camping, orienteering, knot tying, music, writing, fabric arts and on the task end of things, time management, personal goal setting, and joyful learning.
