About me

I started working with children when I was in high school, both as a babysitter and through community theater education programs and I have never once looked back. I love working with children because they have great imaginations and senses of humor.
I have worked with newborns and teenagers and everything in between. Regardless of what age I am working with, I love encouraging reading and technology-free play. I also love getting them outside as much as possible. When it is age-appropriate, I love doing arts and crafts with children and cooking or baking with them. I have also done basic science projects with children, to encourage their interest in that direction, and support their developing critical thinking skills. Through these activities, I am able to share the things I love with children and help them learn and grow in a safe, supportive, and caring environment.
My philosophy with children of any age is to be both caring and firm. I set rules, schedules, and expectations as outlined by the parents and I make sure the children know I mean what I say. Within that structure, however, it is imperative to me that the children in my charge always know I am caring for them at that I will make sure they have as much fun as possible.
