About me

Hello!

My name is Arielle, I'm a recent graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Drama and will be moving back to NYC after babysitting for two years in NJ.

I love little kids, being the oldest child in my family, I've had a lot of experience watching young children at an early age! I began to develop my professional child-care skills first as a camp counselor for The Theater Camp of New Jersey and then as an occasional babysitter for various families in my community. I have been working professionally as a private babysitter and nanny for the past few years and have experience working with very active children ages 8 months-13 years. I have done bath time, meal prep, homework help, diaper changing, bottle feeding, and bedtime prep with children. I love kids and enjoy doing crafts, reading, and playing pretend with them!

I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and have conversational Italian skills. I'm happy to help with homework and tutoring if that is something you are looking for as well. In high school I was a member of the National Honors Society and as a result tutored students in English Literature and Italian for two years. In addition, I also read music and can help children practice their basic piano and singing if they are already involved in those activities.

My favorite things to do with the children I babysit are reading, making art projects, singing songs, and playing make-believe. I find that engaging children's imaginations and creativity is a great way to help them grow and learn as people!

I'm organized, energetic, and dedicated to not just babysitting your child but also being a positive influence in their life.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A consistently working actor, who uses my spare time to volunteer and work with children's theater. I find that helping to develop a child's imagination and sense of play through theater is incredible rewarding. When children involve themselves in the arts they gain confidence that lasts throughout the rest of their lives, and getting to be a part of developing a child's confidence is something I really value.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love teaching children new languages. I am fluent in Spanish (it is my first language) and have conversational Italian skills which I developed during my time studying aboard in Florence. Anything from reading to having every day conversations is a lot of fun! I also love to help children develop their skills in the arts; in particular music, singing, acting, and dance. I am a professional trained singer, actor, and dancer, and am happy to share what I know with aspiring performers. I have taught myself piano and ukulele and am more than happy to help a child practice their skills at home. Cooking is another activity I like to share with the children I work with. It is always so much fun to see what we can cook up in the kitchen. And the sense of accomplishment after you make the perfect cookie…nothing beats that!
