About me

Hello my name is Amanda and as a nanny my first priority is keeping the children in my care safe. As a result I attempt to always be vigilant of my surroundings, especially when navigating the terrains of New York City. In addition to this, I am especially keen on treating all the children in my care as if they are my own, with love, compassion, and respect.

I’ve been fortunate enough to accumulate extensive experience working with infants as a Head Infant Teacher for an early child-care facility, and as a private sitter for various families. When working with infants I focus on literacy development, language enrichment, and both fine and gross motor skill development.

I recently graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors Degree in English/Education and speak Spanish fluently. I’ve had the privilege of completing my student teaching at Rutgers’s Nutritional Science Preschool (Ages 4), and enjoy working with various age groups.

In the past year I have worked for various families in the Upper East Side, participating in after school pick-ups, drop-offs and leading bedtime routines for elementary school-aged children.

Last but not least, I am involved in a local organization on the Upper East Side. Every week I look forward to attending the organizations weekly women's community group where I have met great friends and female mentors. The women in this group are always willing to share life experiences, inspirational testimonies, and great laughs. Im thankful for the opportunity to navigate the city, participate in my weekly women's community group, visit local thrift stores, and participate in salsa classes. Luckily, both my grandparents reside in the Upper East Side therefore, I have the great pleasure of spending time cooking traditional Spanish cuisine alongside my Puerto Rican grandmother. We enjoy a typical Saturday listening to salsa music, watching Spanish soap operas, and cooking big meals. My grandparents are a large part of my world, and continue to motivate me in achieving my goals. My early childhood experiences have molded me into a hard working individual who is always willing to learn and lend a helping hand to others. I have a good heart, a sassy personality, and big curly hair. I look forward to integrating my unique spirit with your special family.
