About me
Very early on, I discovered that I had a natural passion for taking care of children and teaching, As such, I began teaching at an elementary school. Working as a teacher further strengthened my passion for children. I constantly sought opportunities to enhance my teaching skills to be better able to cater to the well-being of the children in my care. As an elementary school teacher, I taught first and second graders with an average of thirty students per class. Being the classroom teacher, my duties and tasks were to plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities, utilize curriculum resources, plan lessons, observe and evaluate children's performance, manage students behavior and keep a neat and organized classroom environment.
After moving to NYC, I continued working with children but instead, with a focus on one on one interaction. Hence, my choice to become a nanny. I acquired seventeen years experience providing care for children ages newborn and up. My dedication, passion and work ethic for the profession has allowed me to work for several families. I enjoy the company of children and nothing is more rewarding than being an integral part of their development.
I love reading but also have a knack for arts and craft. Therefore, I often engage children in various art projects while in my care. I believe that every child should be given an avenue to explore their talents at an early age and allow those to blossom as they grow.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Multiples
In 5 years, I hope to be...
a nanny with a professional degree and other nanny certifications. I do not consider nannying as a job but more as a profession Therefore, I have dedicated myself to this profession and as a result, I am constantly seeking ways to improve my abilities and my skills. This will better prepare me to provide children with the best care possible for a long time to come, even when I am faced with the daily challenges that come with this profession.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
includes but are not limited to tolerance for each other, patience, independence, proper hygiene, reading, doing puzzles, arts and craft projects, cleaning up after themselves, and painting.
