About me

Throughout the past 15 years I have worked with children in all stages of development from infancy through young adulthood and in many different aspects of life. When I was 11 years old, I was a mother’s helper to a mom in my town that had one-year-old triplet girls. I would go over after schools and help with anything, making food, cleaning, changing diapers, whatever she needed. For the past 8 years I have babysat three different families. A family of three, two girls and a boy from the ages of new born to 10 years old, another family of three with three girls ages 5, 3 and 2 and another family with three girls aged 12, 3, and a newborn. I have a great deal of experience with babysitting children of all different ages and all different personalities. I love working with children which is also demonstrated throughout my work experience.

During the summer of 2014 I worked at Change for Kids in the development department on an assortment of projects, specifically the planning and organization of Super Chefs, the library refurbishment project and the non-profit’s main benefit event. I was able to visit the schools we were working on and spend time with the kids a few times a month which was my favorite part of this job! In the spring of 2015 I volunteered at the Hasbro Partial Hospitalization program in Providence. I always loved working with children therefore volunteering at the Hasbro Partial Hospitalization program was a great opportunity. I attended multidisciplinary rounds and development workshops where we discussed patients and gave insight to better help them. While at Providence I was also a day leader for PC pals, in which I coordinated activities for children in the Providence.

In May 2015, I graduated Providence College cum laude with a Psychology Major and a Business Studies Minor. Subsequent to graduation, in June 2015, I started working at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Sarcoma (Dept. of Medicine) as a Research Study Assistant (RSA) I. A year later I was promoted to an RSA II and in May 2017 I was promoted to a Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA). Most recently, in March 2018 I was promoted to Clinical Research Supervisor (CRS) in the Gynecologic Medical Oncology group where I manage a team of RSA's by overseeing protocol coordination, regulatory compliance, patient management, data collection and reporting.

Through my past professional experiences and volunteer opportunities, I have realized I am extremely passionate about becoming an occupational therapist. I started occupational therapy at NYU this Fall and am so excited to graduate and start my career in occupational therapy!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to have a graduate degree in occupational therapy and have a career to better the future. I hope to be working with children in a hospital or school setting and also see clients on the side. I want to impact children's lives and help them build a successful, healthy, happy life.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to play different kinds of games with kids. I believe there is a lot to learn through different activities. Whether kids are using their imagination, playing a board game where directions need to be followed, sharing a story, or listening to a book, all these activities require different skills that are important to learn. My favorite games are interactive games -through interactive games children are able to express themselves and also learn important lessons.
