About me

Hi there! My name is Alexandra, and I would love to help make hectic life in NYC a bit easier by taking care of your child. I am a professional actor who has performed on Broadway and in many National Tours. As happens with most performers, I would like to take on some work that will allow me to stay in NYC full-time, and I thought childcare would be a great way to do that.

I have had the privilege of working with children in a number of shows I have done, and always walk away at the end of the day feeling inspired. I think it is an incredible responsibility to help shape the mind of our future generations. As an actor, I have been fortunate enough to work with and alongside children for a good portion of my career. Growing up in a large family I was always surrounded by kids and often worked summers babysitting, but where I really found my passion for working with children was in instances where we could learn from each other - for me, this was in various Broadway shows and National Tours. While I have had the pleasure of working alongside children in many shows, my favorite experience would have to be the most recent Broadway Revival of Annie. During this time I worked with 8 girls ranging from ages 8-12. As an offstage swing, I was not onstage every night so I would spend a lot of time with the girls helping with homework, reading, and occasionally helping to settle disputes. Sometimes when the energy was low we would hold pre-show dance parties to get us excited, and were constantly coming up with exciting ways to keep each other entertained.

One of my favorite things to do with children is read. I love kid-lit, and to this day books like Peter Pan, A Little Princess, The Secret Garden, Little Women, etc. remain some of my favorites. It bring me so much joy to bring these gems into the lives of kids experiencing them for the first time. I also love to work on projects with children. Creating art and playing is at the core of what I do, so it comes naturally with kids.

In addition to playing, I have a BFA and am happy to assist with any homework so that when you get home from work you can have quality family time together.
