About me

Hi! My name is Wale and I'm originally from Sugar Land, TX, but I moved to New York to pursue my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Columbia University. I have been babysitting for around 5 years now and have found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Last year, I had the privilege of working with another babysitting agency in Houston, and I was blessed to be able to help so many families while getting to hang out with their amazing kids. My duties were to help with grocery shopping sometimes, getting the kids ready for bed, creating innovative ways of learning colors and ABC's, and taking them to various after school activities. I have worked with children in all stages of development from newborns to preteens. Babysitting has highlighted my knack for detail and organization while allowing me to be creative in the way I interact with kids.

When working with children and their families, I like to create an open space for everyone to feel comfortable. I love finding different ways to teach children, which can range from song or play. It's always so exciting for me to see their faces light up when they are having a good time.

Babysitting is what led me to my future career as a Mental Health Counselor because of one of the families I was helping. I was a babysitter for their two boys for months and we grew very close. Through this family I found my passion. Babysitting has given me the opportunity to help others while also helping myself. Helping others is my passion and I love doing that through my field of counseling as well as through babysitting. Knowing that I affected someone's life that day makes me extremely happy.
