About me
Every child deserves a happy and healthy life, and when a family welcomes me into their home as a babysitter, I recognize that it is a privilege to be a part of that. I love kids, and I love making my time with them as fun and special as it can be.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I grew up with younger siblings and younger cousins and have been thrust into the role of "babysitter" for as long as I can remember. (I'm grateful for the increase in my salary these days!) Always told that I was an "old soul," it felt natural to take care of people even when they were only a few years younger than me. My family remains incredibly close despite the distance between us (most of them are still back in the midwest). My parents taught me what it is to be an accepting, open, and loving human... and the way I relate to children reflects that.
Growing up, I was an incredibly hardworking student, maintaining a 4.0 gpa in high school while acting in all the plays and musicals, running varsity cross country, and participating in many school organizations like the Rainbow Alliance and Amnesty International. I took ballet til I was 15 and classical piano lessons til I was 17. I was encouraged to try everything in order to find what I really loved. When I told my parents that I wanted to move to New York to become an actor, they were behind me all the way, something I've never taken for granted. I moved to Manhattan in 2007 to attend Fordham University where I got my BA in theatre performance.
For the last three years, I've been a working actor in the city. I take pride in maintaining a balancing act in my life... being a creative artist who also relies on and loves structure! I am a free spirit who loves to play and create, making me an ideal candidate for babysitting. However, I am also incredibly reliable, punctual, and GLUED TO MY CALENDAR... which is just as important. I will never be late. If anything, I might arrive at your house twenty minutes early (sorry). I'm the kind of sitter you can depend on to make sure your kids get their homework done and practice their cello, but I make it a super fun time if at ALL possible (and it's pretty much always possible).
I've been grateful for the relationships I've had with families I've worked for in the past and still maintain today. I look forward to many more!

In 5 years, I hope to be...
I hope to have a flourishing theatre and tv/film career as an actor here in New York. And I hope that the work is consistent enough that I’m able to support myself financially with that work alone.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I’m an actor, singer, musician, dancer, and writer… so I find these skills translate great when playing with children. I love playing make believe role-play games with the kids (I’ve been told I am the best wicked witch ever… one of the coolest compliments I’ve ever received). I love helping kids to write their own stories and plays and dances… anything that gets their creative juices flowing and doesn’t involve sitting and watching tv. I think my most teachable skill is my musicianship. I studied classical piano from the time I was four years old through high school, and I have a better than basic understanding of most other instruments as well. I think I’d be a great fit for children who are required to practice their instruments for a chunk of time every day. I know how to make practicing your instrument FUN as opposed to tedious. Arts and crafts are probably my favorite part of babysitting. In another version of my life I’d be a visual artist and I love drawing with kids and painting or making clay sculptures. I also grew up in an incredibly sporty family, which I think is helpful to my babysitting as well. Artsy activities are totally great and so important, but sometimes you just need to go outside and kick a soccer ball around or go rollerblading and I’m always up for that as well! I took French through college and could help with middle school French homework, but am definitely not fluent. For someone who’s mostly an artist, I definitely have a very math oriented brain (LOVED calculus… what a weirdo) and I'm a great math tutor and homework helper.
