About me

Originally from Wilmington, NC, and one of four children, I have had a lot of childcare experience from a very young age! My first babysitting job was caring for my two younger brothers at the age of 13. I quickly learned that I had a knack for taking care of children and started to acquire babysitting jobs in my neighborhood. Since then, I have always maintained wonderful relationships with the families and children I have had the privilege of working for, and have continued to work in childcare as I pursue my artistic dreams.

I first discovered my love for theater at the age of five, seated in the balcony of the Fox Theater, located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. After seeing the national tour of Annie, I constantly begged my parents to let me audition for local theater. Although this was impossible with two brothers and one on the way, they enrolled me in group vocal lessons at a local church. It wasn’t until my family relocated to Wilmington, NC that I could finally realize my dream of performing. At the age of eight I auditioned and was cast as one of the seven dwarfs in a community theater production of Snow White. As it is so often said, the rest is history!

I graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel HIll in 2015 with a degree in dramatic arts and minors in both advertisement and vocal performance. While pursing my dreams of acting, I have found childcare to be such a rewarding experience. It is something I genuinely look forward to and have a great amount of experience in. I am extremely patient, can multitask easily, and get along with children of all ages. I have an outgoing personality and enjoy building a meaningful relationship with children so that they always feel heard. I like to think that because I see the world with a childlike optimism and a great sense of humor that it makes it easy for me to connect with children. I can also handle taking care of multiple children at one time with ease. My goal is always to create a healthy and happy environment for children, while keeping them safe and staying on whatever task is at hand!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years my goal would be to have a theatrical resume that speaks to the quality of artistic work I have always dreamed of contributing to. This would include working in Broadway houses, regional theaters, national tours, etc. I would also hope to have a jazz career where I have played in acclaimed jazz houses and perhaps have weekly gigs at such houses. In five years, I hope to have made lots of headway in terms of my artistic career. No matter the extent of my "measurable" success, in five years I hope to ultimately be happy doing something that I love, whatever that may be.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

As someone who considers herself a creative, I absolutely love any sort of creativity when it comes to activities with children. This includes imaginative play, crafts, creating our own games, painting, drawing, building legolands, etc. l also love taking children to museums (with permission from the parents of course). However, I also love outdoor activity and frequently encourage outdoor play in the park. I think it is so important for children to have a place to safely exert their energy. I also love soccer, tennis, volleyball, and can basically be up for whatever athletic activity the child prefers.
