About me
I must say that I have had some of the most humbling, eye-opening, and uplifting moments thus far since moving to New York City. The move to this city came to fruition with hopes of finding my place in the artistic web that is constantly being created and torn down within the walls of the city. I was born in Reno, Nevada, grew up in Southern Idaho with my two wonderful parents and younger sister, and then went to college in Seattle, Washington to pursue my education in dance. After receiving an incredible education; the pull to New York was too great to ignore. That's when I saved up money, packed up all the belongings I own and headed to the East Coast, just like so many others before me. I currently live in Brooklyn and feel incredibly prosperous. I was able to pick up an internship with a choreographer that I admire immensely, and secure a lovely job at a yoga studio in Soho. I have met some incredible people, from all walks of life, and I know that the connections with them will bind me more and more to this giant city. This is why my connection with children is so profound. They are genuine. They are curious. They aren’t scared to take chances, and leap off things and make mistakes. Sometimes they are afraid of the dark, and sometimes they will cry when they fall, but children never worry about the future. Children are just BEING. They are always present. This is a lesson that I always take away from nannying. When I first started watching children I was only twelve years old. I didn't know if I would be any good at it. Sure, I took the Super Sitters course, but I generally had no clue what I was doing. I can not deny that the past decade of watching children has awakened in me the gift of immense compassion, patience, and communication. I have watched children of all ages and from all different backgrounds. I absolutely love being part of a child's life, I can boast in saying that I was there and witnessed these children evolve and grow. I want to help families in any way I can during this next chapter of my life and I want to support and listen to their children. I have learned so much about myself due to caring for another person's child, and I hope that in some way; these children (some of them now young adults) will think back to me and smile.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
I am honestly not the biggest fan of this question because so much changes all the time but what I hope for myself is happiness, living with simple comforts, and the passion to live my life in all the ways that bring me joy. I'm hoping to travel around the world and SEE what is out there, and truly settle into a happy groove in this wonderful city. I want my life to be full of the arts, home cooked meals, and close friends and family that I am able to see regularly. I probably won't want to start a family at that point in my life, but being happy with my partner is all one could ask for. It would also be lovely to be able to afford and have time for a cat or a pug.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love sharing my passion for the arts with children. This comes in many forms, though. I love to sing to newborns and young babies while they are trying to sleep. I love playing "make-believe" with little girls and boys. Coloring, drawing, and crafting have always helped children calm down in stressful situations. I enjoy reading and watching movies with kids and in all different genres. I also believe that walking around and enjoying the city is healthy. I love to ask children questions as well as answer their own questions. Having conversations is important too. I would hope that a child feels like they are heard when they are around me, and that they also respect it when others want to be heard.
